Channel Islands

We were inspired by Lupe Anguiano to learn more about the Channel Islands because she an environmental person.

One of the island is the Santa Barbara which is located in Santa Barbara county. The Santa Barbara Island has one of the largest peaks, Signal Peak which is 634ft. tall. The island offers the perfect nesting habitat for the rare seabird, the Scripps Murrelets. 

The Santa Rosa Island is the 2nd largest island and is 53,195 acres. The highest peak is Vail Peak at 1,589ft. It is located about 26 miles away from the coast of Santa Barbara County.

Anacapa Island is off the coast of Port Hueneme in Ventura County, next to Santa Cruz Island. Ancapa Lighthouse is the last major light station  to be built on the West Coast.The area of Anacapa is 699 acres.

Channel Islands has 70 different plant species and you can whale watch. You can go camping, hiking, and swimming on this island
You can also explore and learn about the animal life.
